Dr. Sweeny's book changed my life. I had a large inguinal hernia but was too afraid to undergo surgery because I didn't want anesthesia. I've seen TV shows where people are wide awake suring surgery but can't do or say anything. I was so scared that I delayed surgery several years during which my hernia grew larger and progressively limited my activities and my quality of life.
