I appreciated this book so much. I can relate personally to so much of what this man is going through. And I am deeply thankful for him writing this book. It is honest. It is easy to read. It is faithful. It is written by a preacher, but it is not "preachy". When you read this book you do not feel as if you are being preached at, lectured to, criticized, etc. You are just reading a personal story, written by a man. A faithful man, who speaks openly and honestly about what a life with this type of disease is like. A man strong enough in his faith to not feel the need to hide the emotions that this sort of illness puts you through. Just knowing that even a preacher struggles with certain things during times like this, I think will allow others with serious illness to "cut themselves some slack" so to speak, in regards to having the same worries.
I believe this book would be useful to anyone battling a serious illness. And anyone dealing with myasthenia gravis, fibromyalgia, MS, or any other nerve and/or muscular diagnosis will find this book particularly interesting. And you probably will walk away feeling less alone than before you read it.
I am grateful that this man took the time and energy to write this book and share it with the world.

It was wonderful to follow the author on his journey of discovery, perhaps because I had exactly the same symptoms and finally the diagnosis of Myasthenia gravis with complications of unknown etiology. He went from a healthy robust man to a sickly weak man almost overnight and was able to write of his feelings and experiences with clarity and some intimacy. He describes in frightening detail our modern medical system from Doctors who told him that he had nothing wrong with him to Doctors who gave him such a plethora of diseases that it would probably be impossible to have all of them at once and survive. I would like to know which health insurance company he had because he had many very expensive tests and most of them were repeated, some more than once, and he only mentioned at the very last that the insurance company was begining to complain. I gave it four stars because he could not turn off his preacher mind. Each chapter ended with several questions desinged to bring us to God or help us improve our relationship with Him or improve our understanding of Him. I felt that this was presumptous.
