The Practice Planners series are indispensable tools regularly reviewed by several active psychotherapists in my current and past shared offices of licensed clinicians. Included countless suggestions and recommendations are easily adaptable to support singular to multiple specific client needs while simultaneously fulfilling mandated documentation requirements. The Practice Planners highly accessible quick reference format is ideal for pre-graduate interns to decades long seasoned practitioners.

I use this as I'm preparing to start my practicum and internship, to ensure my notes follow a standard format for the agency. For my needs it is sufficiently detailed; it covers 36 behavioral issues and provides examples for each. It is updated for the DSM5 with relevant and necessary information.
As you may be aware, all of the treatment planner books follow a similar format with their templates, and cover a wide gamut of behavioral issues. If you are seeing children and adolescents, while there is dissimilar advice between books (this has play therapy, where the adolescent book does not as much), you could likely just get one and adapt the information back and forth.
If you are a novice such as I, it provides a fantastic starting point to build good clinical habits on regarding documentation.
